Moi Avenue Branch

Dear Valued Client,

The banking sector landscape is swiftly evolving as disruptive and innovative products and services become part and parcel of our daily lives. In line with our Digital by Design strategy, we embarked on a transformation journey to innovate and improve our online and mobile banking platforms to enable our clients to access our products and services digitally. We launched end to end account opening and rolled out over 70 service requests, previously only available through branch, on the SC Mobile App. These innovations allow 24/7 access to our banking services.

With these innovations and investments in digital capabilities, we have noted significant shift in accessing banking services from the traditional branch network, and currently over 89% of client transactions are done through our digital platforms: Online Banking, Straight2Bank, SC Mobile app, USSD mobile banking, ATMs and Cash Deposit Machines. This has therefore informed our decision to rationalize our branch network.

Effective 01 August 2021 (in 6 months), we shall consolidate Moi Avenue and Kenyatta Avenue branches and thereby close the Moi Avenue branch.

Though your account details will be transferred to our Kenyatta Avenue branch, you can fully operate your account through our Online/Mobile Banking platforms as well as from any branch countrywide. Your bank account number remains the same and your debit/credit cards remain valid.

Kenyatta Avenue branch details are as follows:

Standard Chartered Bank Building, Kenyatta Avenue, Nairobi operating hours:

Monday to Friday: 9.00 am – 3.00 pm

Saturday: 9.00 am – 12.00 pm

Thank you for your patronage and hope that you continue to bank with us.

Yours sincerely,

Edith Chumba,

Head of Consumer, Private and Business Banking, Kenya and East Africa.

Most mobile phone owners use USSD codes. USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) is a Global System for Mobile (GSM) communication technology that is used to send text between a mobile phone and an application program in the network.

Applications may include prepaid roaming or mobile chatting. USSD is similar to Short Messaging Service (SMS), but, unlike SMS, USSD transactions occur during the session only. With SMS, message scan be sent to a mobile phone and stored for several days if the phone is not activated or within range.

You can transact with your bank using your mobile phone, thanks to the USSD codes that various banks have. This service allows you to transact without leaving your house or office environment. Easily make your transactions anytime and from anywhere. Below are USSD codes for all banks in Kenya.
