Citizen TV reloads its Swahili team of presenters

The exodus of senior news anchors and reporters from the Nation Media Group (NMG) is not over. Now NTV, senior Swahili anchor and reporter Nimrod Taabu has also jumped ship. He has joined Citizen TV.

In a televised advert, Mr. Taabu is joining a team of experienced anchors led by Swaleh Mdoe and Lulu Hassan. Taabu becomes the latest one to be poached from the Aga Khan-owned TV station to join Citizen TV after Rashid Abdalla.

Taabu is touted to replace Kanze Dena who left Citizen TV to become State House Deputy Spokesperson.

Others who were left NTV for Citizen include; Linus Kaikai who is now the Director, Strategy and Innovation, Jamilla Mohammed who is Managing Editor Swahili, Weekend anchor Victoria Rubadiri and Senior Reporter Enock Sickolia.

KTN’s Yvonne Okwara and Joe Ageyo also left KTN and is currently the Editorial Director at the RMS.
