Ulrich Wickert Award for Child Rights 2016 Opportunity
Plan International Germany invites journalists in Africa, Asia and Latin America to apply for the “Ulrich Wickert Award for Child Rights 2016”. Established in 2012 by German TV anchor man Ulrich Wickert, this journalist award (in the categoryInternational Prize) will reward talented journalists reporting on child right issues and raising awareness about the plight of children facing poverty, discrimination and violence. We would be happy to receive applications of Kenyan journalists.
Editors and freelance journalists are eligible to apply.
Terms: One piece per journalist in English, French, Spanish or German which was featured or published between 1 January and 31 December 2015 in print or online media, radio or television may be submitted for the Journalist Award.
The closing date is 31st of March 2016. The prize ceremony will take place on 29h of September, 2016 in Berlin/Germany (the winner will be invited!) and includes prize money of 6,000 Euro. Ulrich Wickert has been supporting the projects and campaigns of the children’s development organisation Plan International since 1995 and he is member of the advisory board of the German organisation. He established a foundation with Plan International, which awards the journalist prize.
